FEDAKO announces management & action plan for 2017

Federashon di Ahedres di Korsou (Curacao Chess Federation) is the official mother organization of the chess sport of Curacao. Managing and stimulating the local chess sport is part of its core function whereby it sets out each year in carrying out a management and action plan in achieving its goals.

For 2017 FEDAKO has formulated its management and or action plan whereby it will be directing its focus on the following points:

• Make the chess sport more known locally and stimulate chess especially among more youth and more females.
• Work on expanding its number of members.
• Work on the process of FEDAKO (Curacao) being acknowledged as a member by FIDE.
• Stimulate members to pay their contributions.

• Stimulate more members to participate in the general meetings.

• Realize changes in the statutes according to members wishes and or decisions.
• Work on internal regulations and or house-rules for FEDAKO.
• Expand the current policy for choosing captains for teams representing Curacao abroad and start applying it.
• Look for alternatives to acquire more funds in order for FEDAKO to achieve its goals.
• Work on a detailed management plan for the long-term.

Apart from the above mentioned points FEDAKO looks forward to organizing various activities throughout the year and sending especially young talented players to partcipate in various international tournaments. Below an overview of some international tournaments to which FEDAKO will be sending members to participate:

• Carifta 2017  Kingston, Jamaica  13 - 18 April
• Central American & Caribbean Youth Chess Championships 2017  Panama  
• Srefidensi Chess Celebration 2017  Suriname  November (5 days)
  
  

There is the possibility that more tournaments could be added, FEDAKO will announce these in time if any.
